I really like this viv, i like the fact that it comes with a nice cabinet, which i am in need of to store the kids ever growing dvd collection and also it can be divided into two. Is this suitable for corn snakes.
When divided the smaller section would be 2ft deep x 2ft wide and 1ft high, what is the maximum size corn i could keep in this area. I am thinking long term not for the hatchling i have just bought. I wouldn't want to spend £200 on something i would need to upgrade in order to house 2 adult corns in a few years.
Also with this sort of viv, where do you place the heat mat??
cheers peeps |

Corn snakes are ground dwelling (so they say) but appreciate a bit of something to climb but they are clumsy too so yuo don't provide them too far to fall. http://www.supapet.com/102-vivexotic-vx-range These are the ones some of the people on here have for corn snakes, but a custom made vivarium stack might be more what your looking for, a google search or a gumtree/preloved search may spring up some nice surprises in your area.
Heat mats are contact heaters so go on the floor where the snake can touch them or at least touch the substrate that has been heated by them. I've seen setups with them on the wall but I cant see how it would do anything of any use there without having to get dangerously hot. |

they definitely won't appreciate an arboreal viv, the vx range lotabob linked to is much more suitable |

gggrrr I really like that one too, Oh well back to the drawing board, I have 6 months to figure out the correct set up. Ideally I am looking for a double Viv with storage underneath. I like the LX stacking range, but then I am minus the cabinet. who'd have thought it to be so difficult lol thanks for the advice. |

I'm going to be stacking my vivs,2 of which will be the VX36 when my snakes are big enough to go in them. I've got an old coffee table that I'm going to cut down to the right size to put the vivs on. I'm going to leave the legs long enough to be able to put some nice looking storage boxes under. |

well i picked up the ugliest (but cheapest) cabinet last night to house the kids DVD's and put a small LX24 Viv on the top, which I beleive stack, so when I find my pefect 2nd snake I can stack another on the top. It won't be big enough for a 3ft viv to go on top but for now it is a cheap and perfect solution, good old ebay :-) |
