This is such a great place for a newbie to learn.
Ok, I've found a local vet who specialise in snakes and when speaking to them they said I should take a poop sample when I get my new corn snake so they can test it for pin worms. Are these common in corn snakes and are they easily treated? They also said it would cost me about £18.00 for the poop test, this is ok as better safe than sorry.

Stay tuned for more questions as I think of them lol.

Mind is changing on snakes I want now lol so am researching these to find out what would be best - Milk Snakes and Dwarf Boa possibly - Crawl Cay, Sonoran, Tarahumara or Vera Cruz and poss a Hoggie, African House and Rat snake. Also Trinket Snakes.

there is no harm in this test, although its not something I have done with any of mine.

What vet have you found as there is an excellent rep vet 5 minutes up the road from you in Cumbernauld, Lawries.

Hiya, doing the test is fine, certainly wont do any harm, but, i would be surprised if you have a positive result.
Pin worms usually come from wild animals, generally not from the frozen food you would buy.
On top of that, not all tests will come back positive if you do have pin worm!!
