Thought you might like to see some pics of some of my APHs. I have 6 of them, 3 chocolates (Hector, Harriet & Matilda) 1 red-eyed cinnicot (Amelia) and 2 albinos (Jemima and Maisie).
Harriet
Amelia
Maisie when she was 3wks old.
And finally some pics of hoglets from my previous litters.
I love these little guys. |

Thanks everyone!
No they're not particularly difficult to care for. I keep mine in separate 4ft homemade vivs (though with fibreglass flyscreen mesh instead of glass), but some people use rabbit cages. Need a temperature of around 75 degrees, I use heat pads during the day when they are asleep and heat the room at night. They also need at least 12hrs of light a day (a normal light bulb is fine). They have a nasty habit of trying to hibernate if the temp and light isn't right, which can be fatal if not caught early enough. They should have 12" wheels to run on, eat mainly dried cat biscuits supplemented with mealworms, crickets, scrambled eggs, cooked poultry, fruit and veggies (though few eat them so better to gutload insects). That's it really.

I got my original one from a breeder near me, but have travelled all over Britain to get others and have had people come from as far as London (I'm in Glasgow) to get a hoglet from me.
Unfortunately, due to I'll health (I have M.E) I have had to stop breeding but their are lots if breeders all over the UK. |

A 3'x2'x2' viv would be fine, I know a few people who use vivs that size.
Ventilation is important though, a normal viv doesn't have enough. You will need to add several more vents or use fibreglass flyscreen/reptile mesh (like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FLY-SCREEN-MESH-WINDOWS-DOORS-REPTILE-CAGES-/290501382728?pt=UK_BOI_Restaurant_RL&hash=item43a33b5248#ht_2366wt_922 instead of glass. |
