Hi All,

Colin is not eating again and it's starting to drive me nuts! He's refused the occasional mouse in the past, but he didn't eat for about 6 weeks before Xmas and then ate again for a few weeks. He has now refused 4 on the bounce again and I really don't know why?? If he was quiet and hiding away I would understand, but it's quite the opposite - he is more lively than ever is is almost constantly moving about the viv. He looks as healthy as usual and there are no visible problems with him.
I don't want to cut the head open on a mouse but I think that's the next course of action.. Has anyone got any ideas for his current behaviour? And is there a specific way of cutting the head of the mouse?? Thanks.

Why is it driving you nuts? This is what snakes do every now and then.

How old is he? He sounds horny tbh.

It's just frustrating! Even though I know it's normal I still can't help but think there is something wrong when he doesn't eat!
He is 8 now and has never really gone this long without eating..
Not to confuse matters, but when I bought the snake I was told he was a boy, and have always called him Colin and referred to him as a male, however, I actually think Colin is female (It would be too stressful for him if I changed his name:)). Does the randy situation apply to the girls as well?
I will stress no more if colin is just in need of some 'attention'!!

I remember reading that the shape of the tail was a good indicator, and from the male and female descriptions of the tail, Colin's tailfitted the female description..

Sounds like the best way round, noone wants to bump uglies on a full stomach.

Speak to your local reptile shop and see about getting him sexed, least that way you'll know if its Colin or Colinetta for sure.
