Hey guys I'm new here and I don't actually own a snake [{YET!} Still live with the parents and they're dead set against pets - especially snakes as I have recently learned!] but I'm hoping to get plenty of info for when I can finally get my own Corn. I've noticed on here that there seems to be a fair bit of snake 'jargon' that you guys use and I was wondering if anyone could help me out and explain a few of the key terms I need to know? Sorry if I'm repeating any previous threads!

Stat- thermostat, a piece of equipment used for regulating your snakes heat source. Essential! Faun- a faunarium is just a platic enclosure with a removable lid. RUB- short for Really Useful Box, a brand of plastic boxes that are great for housing snakes Tub- any plastic container or enclosure that isn't a faun or RUB Amel- short for amelanistic, an albino snake. The first corn muation to be discovered. Morph- any one of the many colour variations seen in snakes Het- if a snake is het for something, it means it carries a gene for another morph but doesn't show it visually. Pair this snake with another that is either het or visual for that gene, and you should get visual offspring Ph- stands for possible het. As above, but their is only a possibility of the snake carrying the advertised gene. |
