Following on from the success of the guide to cornsnake morphs on Ians Vivarium I am planning a huge new website project that aims to list and illustrate every single reptile morph that has ever been produced

For this project I am going to need lots of help from reptile keepers to help fill in the gaps where I am less than knowledgable (ie. pretty much everything other than cornsnakes )

The first thing on the 'to do' list is to build the menu of species that currently have morphs, so please post and list all the species (not morphs just yet) that you know of. I'm initially starting with snakes with lizards, chelonia and crocs to follow........

OMG! You are brave, what you did with the corns was so incredible so I cant imagine how amazing this website will be! You are so amazing for doing stuff like this, apart from it making people dream of having every morph going! :P

i've also got a bottle of wine down my neck so will probably regret starting something so big very soon, but the basic framework is already written so just needs filling with information and photos :D

seperate care sheets will pretty much double the work to do so maybe a link to outside sites for that (good idea though :) )

far too much! :D

the start of the project is at http://www.morphguide.com if anyone would like to comment on the look/layout.

I've cheated on the cornsnakes and linked everything to IV so as not to double my work there, so the only morph page that works so far is hypo hondos. Theres a few basic pages left to write, the text on the home page is one of them so please excuse the blah written there :D

Hey Ian , Was wondering will you be in to Brazilian Rainbow Boa's i know the market for these are very quite but it is picking up with new rare morphs coming more common now such as the hypo & sunglows and more.

I have copied this from TRB : http://www.therainbowboa.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=369

Color:
--Standard brownish orange/red
--High red
--High orange
--Yellow (theorized, not yet proven out)

Pattern (sides):
--Standard crescent
--Bullseye (enlarged crescent completely envelopes the black)
--Full spot (all color, little to no black)
--No spot (all black)
--A few random odds and ends, like side speckles
Keep in mind most if not all of the side "morphs" have not been nailed down, and most of what you see for sale are ones that come close to the planned ideal.

Pattern (back):
--Standard dorsal circles
--Linked circles
--Single stripe
--I think there is even a double stripe someone is working on
Same caution as on side patterns.

Traditional morphs:
--Hypo: fairly well established, dominant line is Lockwood/EBV
--Anery: newer, dominant lines are Sharp and Seib
--Ghost: newest, just produced for the first time in August 2010

Odds & Ends
--Calico: hoped for, but not yet proven genetically

I really think you should go in to BRB's as well as others.

rainbow boas will be there eventually :)

I've made an executive decision to start off with popular colubrids first and get some pages finished and then move onto boas or pythons next and get a section at a time done otherwise I'll be pulling what little hair I have left out :D
