Hi,sorry if I sound like a stress head! Loki is around 2 and a half months to 3 months (I think). He's approx 44cm/17 inches and weighs 14 grams. Is that ok as I read someone elses post and their snake shorter than Loki but heavier? I know there can be variations, but I just want to be sure :-/ |

It depends what you feed them. O think he's fine they all vary, mine were that size and weight at about 4 months. As ling as you don't see muffin tops or ribs then he's fine. |

I think from what Ive read just look at the snake. If it looks thin its thin if it looks fat its fat. I think you just have to know what a healthy snake looks like and compare it to yours but your sig picture looks fine. I wouldnt worry yourself unless you notice a change in size or it looking thinner or fatter than you think it should. I hope this helps you. :) Tiffany-x |

best judgement is made visually you dont want to be able to visually see the skelatel frame through the skin, and imgine chopping your snake in half its cross section should resemble a loaf of bread shape, just looked at my chart when marmalade was 52cm long she was 25gms, so proberly abit lighter that mine at that length

He looks fine to me and he's active enough. Wasn't worried till I saw the size and weight of the snake on the other post.
He's been having a pinkie every 6 days |

I'm not sure to be honest. They've varied in size a bit. How do you know? I fed him every 7 days the first 2 weeks I had him, then started feeding him every 6 weeks. On the last feed I left 5 days. |

Just look at the sizes, some are tiny tiny and some are a little bigger, just have a look at the differences and you can probably work it out. :) Tiffany-x |

You can either weigh them or size, very small pinky ones are probably day old ones. Bigger ones are probably like 2+ days old http://anfrozenfoods.co.uk/#/mice/4532624648 should be more helpful :) |

They are fine but it would be probably best if you buy your pinkies from a petshop to make them root around for bigger ones once he has eaten all the ones you've got. |

I'm lucky in that I have a local pet shop that I get them from. Will ask them for to pick out the bigger ones next time then. Although I only bought 6 last Sat. Might just give him the larger ones then get some more
Thankyou |

Right I'm, going to sound like a right numpty now! Do you mean mean give him a 1g pinkie next time and then a 2g pinkie 7 days after that? Or do you mean to skip the 1g pinkie in 5 days and just give him a 2g one in 7 days instead? Or to see if I can get some pinkies larger than 2g?
Sorry!
Taken some pics of him this morning,he looks fine to me but if you think different then would you let me know. Sorry to be a pest!

he looks fine seriously i wouldnt panic too much - mine were all different weights and lengths at that age personally i would feed a smaller one and then in 5 days feed a bigger one, then feed bigger ones every 5/6 days but its totally up to you and what your snake can handle |

Thankyou, you've put my mind at ease there The largest of the pinkies I've ever had is 2g and he's never had any trouble taking them bless him The link I followed mentioned large pinkies (approx 3.5) I'm not sure if the pet shop does them or goes from pinkies to fuzzies.

the shop will probably have some bigger pinkies that might be found in the fuzzies box.. any rep shop if they are good will happily sort through them for you - all the ones ive been to have anyway if you dont have any bigger ones then you could always double up on the smaller ones so he gets two |
