If I remember correctly, hot end temps should be about 29c?
All 3 of mine are averaging at 28c.
Fluctuating between 27c and 31c.
Does this sound okay?

High 29's is probably heading a bit too high Liesela, I've just adjusted Silvesta's stat because it was hitting 29.4oC. Just tweak the stat slightly so it comes down a bit.
Normally the cold end being cold isnt a problem, Mytika can move to the warm end if she is cold....but it depends on how cold it is. Around room temp is fine, about 20 - 22oC. The only time it is an issue would be if Mytika was spending all her time in the cold end and it was lower than those temps.

I've just received another Habistat pulse stat so getting Phoenix's hot temp should be easier now than using the mat stat I had originally.
Using a mat stat is definitely a pain to get the hot temp right, just when you think you've got it right at 28C, the next time it heats up it gets to 29/30C grrr. |
Best wishes

Yeh I agree temps are hard work with some stats.
I've got a lucky reptile pro control digi stat, microclimate mini stat 100 and a habistat.
They are all about the same, I think the habistat is the most stable.
How much are pulse stats and are they much better? |

Mine fluctuate from high 26's to low 29's.
The pulse stats are much better, Rockies tank tends to fluctuate by around 0.2c although there are times when iv'e seen it fluctuate by as much as 1c. |

my mat stat was really easy to setup & it sits at 27.5-28.5 degrees took me about 30 mins to setup and i havent needed to adjust it for the week its been running. it doesnt drop far at all before coming on and it reaches 28.5 quickly and turns off again. not much fluctuation in temps at all. maybe i got a good one, i have heard mixed reviews but i would get another for my next snake. (dont let me wife see that!) plus it was £20 from ebay - new, boxed & delivered |

Lucky Reptile Pro Digi...
Its about as consistent as the others. Fluctuates by a few degrees.
Good points - it displays temp at all times so no need for another thermometer, I have got a digi thermometer aswell but it's not rewuired as they are very accurate. Also it alarms if temp gets too hot or cold. And it looks really professional on top of the viv.
Only downside is you can only set temp to 1c. So difficult to adjust, so if set at 28 and it's reading 26, you adjust it to 29 and often it gets too hot. 0.5c increments would be better.
