Just wondering how much it costs you a month to keep your snakes. Sorry if it's a bit too personal but it might be quite interesting to see how much it differs with amount of snakes, ages and other things.
I have 2 adults, 1 is on a diet though so that makes things a tad cheaper and 2 babies. Costs me about £10.20 - 12.20, not including electricity and water.
2 x 1.50 for Jumbo mice 1 x 1.20 for Large mice About 10 x 0.50 for fuzzies Clean out for all £1 |

Hmmm very roughly.... I got 25 fuzzies for £15 although some of those are quite small so will prob use 2 for some feeds. Call it 20 feeds from that batch...
75p fuzzy x 4 weeks = £3 a month
Haven't had my electricity bill since I got my snake but I think a heat mat uses about 7W, no idea about a stat though. I'd say that consumes about as much power as a light bulb does as its used over the week. Probably not enough for it to matter, especially when my girlfriends fish tank pump uses way more power!

I am sure this has been discussed before but for the life of me I cant find the thread !! The only one I found was comparing the price of mice - http://www.thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=7013
Sad thing is that I have absolutely no idea !! OH goes is and buys the mice, wouldnt know how to work out the electricity cost and use Hermicore in a great big bale that cost me about £8, so cost is minimal.
Sorry I cant help any more than that Sta~ple.

at the moment with hatchies it costs around £20 per month for pinkies, and around £25 for mice for the rest of them :(
cleanouts are cheap, a few rolls of kitchen roll from the pound shop and a bale of aubiose every so often
plus £15 ish a month for crix and veggies for the beardie |

i could easily spend 50 quid a week on food, but at the moment, they are being fed less often, so is about 30 quid a week, not including crickets, locusts and meal worms. |

no idea of breakdown between Boa, kings, ratsnakes, corns, royals and beardies but round about £30ish, cleanout is cheap a bale of Aubiose about £10ish and does us a fair few months. |

Aubiose is a hemp horse bedding that a lot of us use (or Hemcore which is supposedly the English version). This thread discusses it -

Electricity for them costs about £4-5 and for anyone whos interested, http://www.ukpower.co.uk/tools/running_costs_electricity/ at. Hopefully the mice cost will go down soon when I buy online in about 5 months time, if the TSM food site comes back up again :/ I suppose about £1.50 to heat one of them isn't bad for a month really. |
