Anyone else terrified by spiders?
Last night I was peacefully watching Zack and Miri (om nom seth rogen)
and all of a sudden out comes a hairy beast of a spider, just sitting in the corner of my room waiting to get me.
So I sit on my bed watching it's every move too afraid to sleep or even blink!
THEN , BAM! ANOTHER one came running out my wardrobe Dx!!! it was the biggest , most evil horrible looking spider I have ever seen.
So, I flew out of my room and had to sleep down stairs. (and cried a little from shock )fml.
I'm too scared to even squash them/throw them outside

Anyone got any tips of getting spiders out? Someone once told me to put conkers in the corners of your room to stop them coming in...lmao

I was meant to go to phobia classes, but I was too scared

OMG I would have done exactly the same as you. I really don't like them. How the hell can anybody watch two at once, cunning little blighters
Never heard of conkers in the corner before. I've heard of strong hairspray making their leg hairs stiff so they can't run but never been tried it. I don't like them but I'd rather have them put outside than be really unkind to them.
I just wish they would stay outside!!!

Bleh!
Spiders are the worst

I was feeding my baby leopard gecko last night and a spider ran out of the cricket box and up my arm!
I freaked out and dropped the box (yep, crickets everywhere!!) and ran away
I'd feel mean squishing it so when i found it sitting on top of Dingers viv (after a good shower of course) i got the big massive tongs and fed it to the gecko! TAKE THAT, SPIDER!

Short of getting a cat or making sure every single window, door, crack or gap is closed or covered with a bug net i havent got a clue how to keep them away.
Maybe a sign?

I've sprayed one with body spray before...It sort of 'danced' but then it ran and I never saw it again :| and it freaked me out too much so I wont be doing that again

Haha yeah I think having a cat is the best option, but I'm not allowed one!
*lol at feeding it to the gecko* :D

I always have nightmares about spiders being in doyles tank and nesting in his leaves!!

awww, i feel the same way about slugs...except having a phobia of slugs is silly it's not like they can jump on you!! Ironically i love snails and always rescue them off the path so no-one treads on them (worst feeling in the world when you accidently step on one in the dark :( that *crunch* argh!)

Weirdly tho, my mum always taught me it was good luck to have a 'house spider'...whether she said that so i wouldn't grow up with a phobia i don't know, but i always end up naming them and saying hello!!

I had a staffy useful for this! but sadly he died, leaving me heart broken and spider infested!

Lol miss mystra, bet you had ladybird poo everywhere!!
I brought an ant farm thing once but I could never form a proper colony
Gosh I just realised how obsessed with bugs I was, haha did you ever have sea monkeys? I also used to have these trillobyte things, and they were AWESOME, they looked like helmet crabs/massive sea monkeys and they did somersaults in the water!! They stunk though so i had to flush them...

I had a house spider named Henry, I knew it was him as he only had seven legs. He survived two window drops, a shower and a flushing. H sparked my phobia when awoke to Henry on my chest. 0.O

I awoke the other week to find this guy creeping over towards my bedroom! I'm not too fussed about spiders though so I caught him in a pint glass to get some pics and then threw him out the window.

If you think he's big, you should have seen the golden orb that I nearly walked into in Thailand! The picture makes him look smaller but he actually was as big as my head!

I think...I just crapped myself.

The only thing stopping from going places like that are the spiders D; I'd love to go to Australia, but with those bleeders waiting under every bush and toilet seat...HELL.NO.

I think there is a certain irony with us all talking about animal phobias on a Snake Enthusiast forum. Half the world is terrified of our passion. I suppose people who keep arachnids consider fear of spiders as irrational and odd as we do a fear of snakes.

That being said I'm not exactly a fan of creepy crawlies either

gregDT I have to agree! When people hear you're scared of spiders but own a snake they're like...what?...

I've just been debating with my boyfriend ''would a snake eat a spider?!?'
I said no, he said yes!

so...would they? :O
