Okay, so this is a little weird I think...
I brought Doyle a new water bowl today, a bigger one so he can actually fit in in and under it (where he likes to hide)
So he went in it earlier but his head went all the way under the water for about 5 seconds, it could have been longer, I just looked and it was under
Now a few hours later I opened his tank to get him out and he sneezed? :S
I've seen videos of corns sneezing before, and I'm pretty sure this is can be a sign of a respiritory infection...do you think it's just water up his nose by any chance?
I'm keeping my eye on him
What other signs should I look for a resp infection?
Thanks guys

Hi. Judging by the time he put his head under the water, I'd reckon he's definitely sneezing water. A long time ago, I fell into a local canal. Well ... I was pushed by a cow (long story) and I can swim a bit so I wasn't under water long, but I was still sneezing water 24 hours later.

Hope this helps - or if it doesn't, you can have a good laugh ...

You were pushed...by a cow... :| lmao I think that's one of the funniest things I have ever even tried to imagine haha!

Do you think he would have even breathed water in though? because surely he wouldnt try to breath under water...can corn snakes hold their breath o.O ?!?
I'm all in a worried pickle now!!

Maybe someone with more experience can advise, but snakes can be a bit daft at times.

Off the top off my head I can visualise ... Doyle sees new bowl, goes across to investigate ... ooh, how interesting, I can get right in ... let's see if I can find the bottom ...slurp, snore, splutter ...STILL going to see if I can find the bottom ...

I remember the time when there was a little warm weather this summer, and Spooky came outside with me and hurled herself into the pond. I grabbed her quickly - and the minute I relaxed she jumped back in again! I suppose they're like children - they don't think they could actually suffocate or drown in there ...

Oh dear LOL, yes, that cow. She was barring the footpath so I followed commonsense hiking rules and told her to move. She put her head down and I stood my ground and growled at her. She kept on coming so I thumped her shoulder but ... suddenly felt myself leave the ground and thought ... I think I'm going in the canal ... Oh no!

Oh yes. Bloody great charolais thing she was. Have never been quite so confident with cows since!

Lmao I love reading your life stories BATS. I think I'd have a heart attack if doyle jumped into a pond...TWICE! haha

Cows are one of my least favourite animals, I still won't eat the darlings, but they just so...MOO. y'know?
Although, I did almost make my sisters fella crash his car on the motor way the other day because I saw a teeeny baby cow in a field...and of course got too excited and shouted, at the top of my voice OH! MY GOD! THERES A BABY COW!!!
I felt like such a numpty, first time meeting my sisters new fella, I tried to be as normal as possible and not embarress her...didn't work

LOL - why not - I'd rather look at a baby cow than some boring clothes shop or TV programme. I reckon you've got your priorities right!!

Has he stopped sneezing yet? Bless him!

He's hid under his water bowl now, so I havn't seen or heard him sneezing since
I did just read that alot of peoples corns sneeze after drinking, so fingers crossed he was just being sloppy and got some in his snozzer
Haha you know like when you drink things too fast and misjudge the correct angle for drinking and it just swooshes into your nose/entire face? ... I know I'm not the only one !! haha!

BATS you are nutter, I've just spluttered Pepsi Max all over my mobile (I use it to access the net) when I read about you arguing wrongly with a cow and coming worse off.

Talking of cows, yesterday when we were on our way to pick my new snakie up, the Sat Nav on our car sent us up this thin, windy country road and we passed a few farms but next thing we are in the middle of a field of cows with this road running through the middle of it. All the calves stopped what they were doing and watched this weird red contraption (our car) drive through their field pmsl.

Its a good job our car is a crossover SUV as I think a Focus or the like would have had some damage to their underside or suspension.

What we wondered was why was this tiny country farm lane on the Sat Nav, however when we got to the end of it, it came back out onto a normal main road, so I guess its just a quick way from one main road to another.

Best wishes

Catherine xx

LOL - satnavs!! My ex and I still go hiking, and we were walking along a similar country lane, when ex needed to find a handy bush ...Not much cover up there! Just as he reappeared a mini came up behind us with a pair of very winsome young ladies, hopelessly lost and in need of direction, which ex was very (very very!) pleased to give ...(I left it up to him as I'm no motorist and giving directions is not my forte ... made his day, anyway.) Turned out they were heading for Manchester when they needed to be in Leeds. They did have a satnav but she was holding it upside down (bless!)

All I could think of was how red his face would have been if they had driven along a split second earlier ... pmsl - and so would he have been!

Venom loves to put his head under water to drink and when he comes out he also sneezes water. He also likes to get his substrate around his nose specially when he's just taken a drink so it all sticks to his nose so he will sneeze until it all comes off.

A very special super, duper thanks for K :3
