sam the van man!!
you got any family/friends who live that way or anything? could always drop one off on a visit or something
i had my mont delivered up by courier - it might have been sam the van man himself! - and the guy was really good - had been checking on him every 30mins and turned the heat up so he didnt get to chilly as the heat pack had started to cool down too much

sam the van man was useless when someone used him to collect snakes from me - he gave a 3 hour time span for his ETA which is fair enough given the potential for delays etc, but he still turned up 2 hours too late without any phone call at all to let me know. I was just putting my shoes on to go out after giving up waiting in when he turned up, so he only just made it - and even then I had to ask for a reciept to say he'd taken the snakes, he was just going to disappear with them. A very shoddy service :(

if you search for 'tarsntula barn' i've heard good things about them

sending 'livestock' through Royal Mail IS illegal and pretty damn cruel too, i can't believe this woman asked you to do it!
i'd also be quite wary of her knowledge, competance and common sense!

I was thinking that myself, anybody who wants to have a snake mailed to them has to be a little dim.
