Over the weekend we had a party.

My mate came over with her 6 yr old boy, 3 yr old boy and boyfriend.

The 2 kids were wonderful, they were stroking Gobo, and were fascinated, although Jesse (the older one) decided he wanted a cobra....

They kept asking all sorts of questions and weren't scared at all.

Jo (the boyfriend) was really scared, but we slowly enticed him into the room, and finally he held Gobo and calmed down. He asked fairly much every Q under the sun before holding him though.

Is it venemous. (no!)
Do they squeeze hard? (nice massage!)
What does it eat? (not humans!)
etc.

:D *squee!* I like edumacating people! XD

They also watched feeding time, and were fascinated again.

(Re- post on why do we keep snakes....this is one of the reasons!)

I love the people that say something like "why do you keep snakes, they don't do anything" all the while you're sat there in front of their fishtank.

Makes me wonder if they 'don't do anything' why some people watch them so intently just in case they move!! I suppose it's so they can run away in a hurry.......

Why I want a snake - People fear what they dont understand, if you talk to people a majority claim to be scared, I understand everyone has their own fears but they are only scared because they hear bad things, even if you were to have a people eating/killing snake they are only doing it because they must, they arent trying to be mean, they have to eat. Animals are always innocent cause they never hurt anyone on purpose, people need to learn to love and appreciate animals even if they are potentially dangerous. I want people to become educated about this subject and by introducing people I know that fear snakes helps, even if its only me doing so.

Sorry Im blabbing again, lol.

LOL!

At present 'coming to see the snakes' is a craze with the local kids. I ration this carefully - and they have to respect feeding/shedding boundaries, but as young Daveed put it: ''Doesn't it DO anything?'

'No.'

It hasn't put them off - they keep on coming, bless them!
