im getting my first hatchie on monday and i wondered if this setup is ok, there isnt a stat or a thermometer yet, theyre arriving tommorrow and it looks like theres only one hide but the other is buried in the substrate

That looks nice, what kind of substrate are you using as it looks rather dusty?

your substrate looks a bit thick, but otherwise looks good,

Out of curiousity what is the substrate you are using.

i should have mentioned this in the OP but i forgot so here it is, i havent got any proper substrate yet because im getting some when i get snakie on monday so i just put some sawdust in to see what it would look like when it was complete, so im going to give it a thorough
clean tomorrow before the snake arrives and put aspen or something in instead, dont worry! snakie is safe!

When you set it up properly with the Aspen you may want to put a little less in the warm side, but other than that it looks pretty good.

it doesnt look like it in the pic but theres hardly any substrate on the warm side at all
