I'm a little confused i was told on another thread to leave my babies for a week so they can settle one has started shedding and had already taken food from me so there due to get fed again today should i feed them or just leave it till next week???

hi i didn't really start it till today cos when i bought them the breeder didn't tell me i had to  so as of today i wont touch them but they are due a feed but one of them is starting to shed so should i feed them or not?

I would just leave them for a week then. It won't do them any harm and in the wild when they are shedding they wouldn't feed anyway, because they are virtually blind. You will probably find that he just hides away all the time untill after he has shed.

The reason i also advised her to leave them for now is because she currently does not have a thermostat controlling the heatmat. The safest thing to do was obviously to turn the heatmat off as its not too cold at the minute and its much safer than having it on uncontrolled. So i wouldn't feed them untill you atleast got your thermostat up and running.
You may not have read through the thread so weren't to know otherwise but on this occasion i would leave them be. |

| that's what I'm doing Danny but I'm up and down like a yo-yo just worried in case the temp drops its sitting at 80f outside the vivs just now so hope that will be ok. |

The temps in the viv can drop as low as 17-18c with no real issue/risk to a cornsnake (unless it's just fed obviously) so if the viv is inside your house then I wouldn't worry at all about it getting to cold.
Obviously unless you like freezing temperatures in the house as well. |
