Im getting a new viv soon and im a bit stuck on what size to go for
Ive seen lots on diffrent web sites and dont kno witch to go for. The prices verey.
Vivexotic VX vivariums but do i go for length rather than hight or go for more width E.G.
Vivexotic VX48 vivariums are 4ft in length, 18.5" deep and 21" tall. or 4ft in length, 15" deep and 16" tall. Vivexotic VX36 vivariums are 3ft in length, 18.5" deep and 21" tall. or 3ft in length, 15" deep and 16" tall.
I dont mind payiny for the xtra ft, but people say if the viv to big thay can get scared, but he is an adult and is 4,5ft long and gets very active in the evenings.
Thank u for any advice. |

The golden rule is the snake should not be longer than the width of the vivarium plus the depth, so if your snake is 5ft plus you need a VX48 but if it's 4ft to 5ft then you can get away with a VX36. Personally I do't think adult snakes have much trouble with bigger vivarium's so I'd break the bank and get the bigger one. As long as they have hides to curl up in they don't seem to be to bothered. And if you think about it in the wild they live outside and it don't get much bigger than that ;-) |

My snake is just over 5ft and it is fine in a lx viv which is smaller than the vx ones. He is active but the viv is fine for him. I also have a snake that is 3ft8 in the same size viv ad my 5ft one which is 4ft by 15", I have just packed it out more for her. A the 4ft one that is 18 wide is a bit too big I would have thought unless your snake is like 5ft and a half.
How old is your snake btw?
I'd go for the 3ft x 18.5" one or the 4ft by 15" since you say he is active then he might like the extra room and you may think that the 3ft x 15" one would be too small if he is active. |
A very special super, duper thanks for K :3 |

We're gonna order our VX36 viv and cabinet from seapets.com for £116.95 with free delivery. Not the cheapest I could find, but the two cheaper ones I found had P&P that made them more expensive. Not ordered it yet, so I don't have any experience with their customer service or anything. |
Corn Snake - Bella. Bearded Dragon - Draco. Leopard Gecko - Mojo. Cat - Neo. In our family we also have: Cali King Snake, Spiny Flower Mantis (RIP), African Lined Mantis (RIP), Ghost Mantis (RIP), four Hermit Crabs, a Budgy and a Dog - Mystie... oh and a YAMAHA YZF-R1 but she's feeling a bit neglected at the moment :( |

When I've bought VX's, the cheapest place was Amazon, so do check there also. |
