I have had my corn snake for 3 and a half years and a big rat snake for a few months now and never used UV lighting, just a thermostatically controlled heat bulb. i always was told by others and on the internet sites, care sheets and book etc that they don't need ultravoilet light like most lizards and tortoises do. i read a book today and it said that corn snakes and rat snakes need full spectrum lighting. its funny how one book author can condradict another lol |

As far as I know, corns don't need lighting. The people on here who have it, have it for aesthetic reasons.
:D
btw, your sig has a random URL to my bannermaker.....is that intentional? |

They dont need any UV at all, i wouldnt worry about it. IF one contradicts a lot, then it stands to reason that the 1 is most likely to be wrong. |
