This is about as good as place to put it, so, what cars do people have and what sort of thing are people into?
Any performance people, Jap lovers etc?
Heres a video of me in the carpark playing last year!

Lewy likes Triumph Stags, hence his other forum on www.stagmad.co.uk

I like minis, but no longer drive one or go to rallys since I'm old now and need a reliable car

Do you like the new minis? or is it just the older ones for you?

The older ones are my thing, although my mate had a new mini and it was a great car. Cheap on diesal and really comfortable - just not a mini in my opinion

The older Minis are the best.
At the moment we have our little ford Ka, handles like a go-kart on rails.
I also have my long-term project (that wasn't supposed to be) which is a 1978 Midget.

It's a nice little car, not bad condition either considering it was on the side of a road for years.

Thats a nice little car Phil, the only downside in my opinion is the colour, a nice respray would be cool!

It would be, but it's also still the original paintwork.
I have the boot lid off and that's had a few different colours on it now to try to decide what looks nicest.
Lighter colours show it's small blemishes/dings to much, but gloss black looks superb.

I have got some 'shopped pics somewhere of different colours, I shall have to dig them out to show you.

BTW, linky in first post is fixed.

i like anything old! :) years back I was well into aircooled VWs and had the usual assortment of beetles and campers, with my pride and joy being a '66 type 3 razor edge karmann ghia.
Now that i'm married with kids theres not enough spare cash for a toy so my last was a '74 HC viva...

sadly i had to sell it because it was a real pig to get spares for - i even had to adapt a mk2 escort exhaust to fit because nobody does them (it was a peco so at least it sounded good!)

I'd love something with a big v8 up front that doesn't go round corners sometime in the future so I can go playing on the dragstrip at weekends, but i need some kids to leave home first! :)

Looks cool phil, if the original is that good that's impressive.
I will post some pics of my cars when I can.
Eeji, a mate of mine is currently restoring a karman ghia, he's into his vw°s too.

I am yet to see a nice corsa at all! There is one round the corner from me with a hideous body kit on it, to make it worse, its still in primer, and worse still, rust is coming through!

Mine was also white but the big difference being it was only a sport, can you tell? hehe I drive a Vectra now but im trying to convince the OH to let me have another Scooby when the insurance is cheaper as a "Toy" lol. She doesnt like the attention drawn to her by the imense noise they make! but surly thats the point! hehe

They are nice in purple, any car is nice in purple though. And I have no idea what primer is. I really need to take driving lessons >.<

All cars virtually look the same to me, the are either old, square, mid-life-crisis, show-off nice. Or they are blue, red, ect XD
You old guys have some really old car's there :p they are nice looking but the colour doesn't really help the old looking-ness.

Primer is the undercoat of paint.

So you'd have metal/plastic, then a layer of primer then a layer or 3 of paint before lacquer.

Looks nice matt, doesn't matter if its a sport or not, a scooby is ascooby!
Did you see the video?
I have another I will post in the morning!
The second one has sound!
About 53 seconds into this one I nearly hit the car I was sliding towards, I stalled the engine and stopped about 2 foot away!
I want another scooby!

yeh i did watch the video mate looks sweet!

I wish i could of had a Turbo just im 21 with only 2 years no claims (should have 4 but because of an accident lost 2) so insurance will rape me! Even for a UK spec one. When i got mine it already had turbo bonnet and STi wheels. I put on the STi6 spoiler, WRX interior and the Borla Headers. I had plans to colour code skirts and mirrors and put a STi lower splitter on. Then there would be no chance you would even know it was a Sport! Only someone with a keen eye wouldve spotted mine was a sport as there still was the few tell tale signs.

I loved even minute of driving it! Sounded just like a turbo scooby as well (the borla helped). Did you watch the vid? i have another vid on youtube of it as well but that was the better one. I had a little go in mine when it snowed as well but the 4 wheel drive did F**k all lmao, i just bliped the throttle round a corner and the tail nearly kissed the bonnet! I was so gutted when she died :( like an idiot i forgot to check the oil and ran it dry :( Big end went on it. Took it to Scooby Mania and they wasted £1500 to repair. Couldnt afford it so i let it go cheap. Shes a proper beast now though, a mate of mine bought it and plonked a WRX engine and ECU in it!
