I know this might be confusing news to you Jase, but I think you need to look at it on the positive side. Have been googling it and can only find info on Cavernomas....is that the same thing?
'A cavernous malformation or cavernoma is an abnormal cluster of dilated blood vessels which have a tendency to bleed'....I guess the cluster of abnormal vessels is the benign tumour - and I thank God that it is benign and can be treated, even if it has to be done surgically.
By the sounds of it you are actually lucky that it has been spotted as often they are missed and not diagnosed, so people are walking around with them not knowing why they are suffering so much with headaches etc, while all the time they could be bleeding into their brain - not reassuring to you I know, but yours was diagnosed and can be dealt with.
Sta~ple....I would assume that Jase is having it removed, despite it being benign, because it is causing small bleeds into his brain.
I know that your op must seem a long way ahead, but as Sammysnake said, if they felt it was more dangerous they would have you in sooner. The days and weeks and months will pass....especially with the summer and the kids to occupy you. But please remember to take time out for yourself and to prepare yourself for what is going to happen....because no matter how good this news is (in that it isnt brain cancer) it does mean that you will be having brain surgery....which is a big thing and something you need to get your head around. And talk it through with your OH, as I am sure she desperately needs to.
You know where we are....and take strength in the fact that many of us are praying for you, even if you dont believe - you have no idea the power of prayer.
Love Ju xxx

Good for the op mate. Hurrah for it being benign though - despite having to have it taken out. |

It's good that it's benign! Hope the op goes well :D I'd say let us know which hospital which ward, but you'll end up with a deluge of things like gummy snakes etc!!! hehehehe |

Glad it's good news even if the down side is surgery! Lets hope time won't drag too much for you, it's horrible waiting. |
