My girlfriends snake is roughly jus under a year old (maybe younger) and now when u pick him/her up it gives off like a little squeak sometimes this isnt all the time but jus every now and again, a friend of ours who breeds snakes said it could be a cold?....Any thoughts?

not had this myself but if it continues id get him to a vet, could be nothing but its best to be on the safe side

Mine did it for a while. She was fine. How do you pick it up? only because really the only times mine have done it is if I've surprised them by accident.

Colds/RI's are usually indicated by breathing problems and a discharge from the mouth.

Best plan, just keep an eye on it. You know the snake well, and will be able to tell if it's sluggish, or twitchy, or off in any way

my corn snake blake has an occasional quiet wheeze for over a yr and a half now, i took him to the vets about it in 2009 and he was checked out inside the mouth and everything and all looked clear. there has never been no discharge from his nostrils or anything along those lines, when i took him to the vet he was given an antibiotic injection to fight off any potential ri, however hes quiet wheezing has never stopped, yet blake continues to be active eats, drinks and thrives. i think some snakes just can have some potential character perks in them all.
but as long as you keep an eye on your snake he stands the best chances of survival
