Yes! but it's both good and bad news.

It was awful- we found her in the washer!!!! - it was the worst moment of my life.

I turned the washer off straight away, put the door wouldn't open for a few minutes so you can imagine the panic. A full demi-john of wine got smashed in the gaffuffle and we both feared the worst because she looked so lifeless.

By some miracle she was alive when we got her out, but she was very hot and seems to be in shock (well you would be) so now we are just keeping an eye on her and crossing our fingers.

She is so lucky. She must have been inside the washer to start with because we checked the clothes before they went in. She is lucky she made it to the front of the drum so we saw her, she is lucky I had sunburn so went into the kitchen to get some cooling gel from the fridge otherwise we wouldn't have found her in time and she's lucky she is hard enough to survive both 6 weeks being awol in the house and about 5 minutes on a wash cycle.

Hoping to take her to the vets tomorrow, but leaving her be for today to calm down. It would be awful if she went into shock just hours after her miracle rescue.

I've felt sick ever since. It's awful. Another few minutes and it would have been too late. Thank god for Scarborough sunshine and pillar box red skin. I'm wearing my lobster with pride this time.

I'll keep you informed of her progress- I'm still in shock too though, but glad to have her home

Sorry to hear about the wine though, bad luck there.

The sunburn saved her, because I had just got out of the bath and under normal circumstances I would have just gone and done my hair and if I had done that she would surely have died.

The severe throbbing of my sun burn meant I headed straight to the fridge in the kitchen for some cooling aloe vera gel and that's when I found her. If not, I probably wouldn't have gone in until the wash had done and then we would have been dealing with a dead snake

No, she hasn't! Soon after the initial shock wore off she could be seen trying the get out again!

These snakeys today, they don't know they are born

She seems more settled today so glad about that. If she was going to go into shock I think the first 24 hours would have been the most likely time. Going to try and feed her tonight, then if she eats that ok then I'll have something positive to tell the vets tomorrow.

Thanks for all crossing your fingers x

Hope she is going to be alright after that scarey episode.

Reminds me of a woman at work who's husband had a similar incident with the cat and a tumble dryer, but they only found her at the end of an hours drying.

She's eaten a pinkie!!! and seems quite active now.

She is the either the luckiest snake in the world, or the bravest, or the most stupid

She's a bit skinny so we are going to feed her every 3 days for the next few weeks, until we are satisfied she's back up to full strength.

I still can't believe it all. From the horror of finding her to the relief that she seems ok. It's amazing really.

well, we decided not to take her yesterday, just because we've checked her over and there's no visible signs of damage and she's eating and drinking ok. She's still really jumpy so we are leaving her to settle for a few more days. Don't think she's ready for the car journey yet.

She was a lot more active yesterday than she has been though so we think that pinkie has done her loads of good. Still watching her very closely, but the only thing I'm really worrying about now is wether she's allergic to Surf Tropical powder :0)
