So managed to carry my new Viv up two flights of stairs, put it down then wammy the two glass sliders fell out. Oops!

Luckily one survived enough to get the dimensions off but where to go for cheap glass or even perspex?

ebay has cheap perspex cut to size or you can ask for a certain size plus you can choose colours too if you want.

Oops, bet you uttered a few choice words mate!

If you want glass, check your yellow pages for a local glazer, otherwise as MM has said ebay.

thanks guys, didn't think to check ebay! any issues with using perspex as I'm not capable of handling glass safely lol, will it lose heat to fast etc? I'd imagine it'll scratch easy but found some really cheap stuff..

Got some random dimensions, 384mm x 271mm x 4mm

Click on 'Cut Pieces of clear Perspex'

Then I put in your dimensions above (choose your own size) - £8.

Thanks, its just a shame that their postage and handling doubles the cost, need two of them. Found these guys on eBay look good as well and will trim it down for me, http://www.plasticonline.co.uk/page18.htm

I converted a cupboard into a viv and needed sliding doors for it, I went to my local double glazing people but they had to send it away to be toughened, it took about 3 days all told.

Most people on ebay selling perspex wont charge the same for P&P per sheet they will reduce it at least.

hey, ive used perspex, and you dont wantit, plus its more expensive, its horrible, scrathes to easy. find a local glass shop, theyl be cheap. 2 doors for a 4 x 2 x 2 viv for me is £20, so a tenner a door

I like my perspex lol I have 3mm & 6mm (which is better) & I prefer it as its lighter & as I make my own vivs if I want I can cut/trim the prespex myself if I ever needed to. I got a 4'x4' sheet 6mm for £6. Mine hasn't scratched but I am careful with it.

I suppose it depends how you treat it and what you use it for, a Monitor would probably destroy it quite quickly!

Hey Liverpoolmadman I'm down south but may check some local stores.

Red.Ltd on eBay can do two custom cut perspex doors delivered for a tenner so might have a go with them first.

Luckily I'm not in a rush, need to buy loooads of cover and bits as Marmite its getting a rather huge upgrade, didn't realise how much bigger it was till I got it home
