Hello :) I've super researched corn snake care in a bid to be totally on top of the whole thing when I finally get myself a corn snake, but I have one needly question. I have cats, and obviously, when I got them, I took them to the vet for check ups and such. Should I do the same for a baby corn? So far I've been told that snakes and other exotics aren't the kind of animals that require regular checkups, but I've had alot of conflicting information on whether you should pass them by a vet or not to check they are all happy and dandy, mostly because of internal parasites.. Whats the general opinion? |

They are very hardly little animals and don't really need to see a vet for an MOT. I would suggest that you buy from a reputable dealer or shop. Ask to see its feeding and shedding record prior to purchase, get a D.O.B, length and weight too if you can and post them on here.

Like BE says, buy from a reputable source and you shouldn't need to send your new corn for a check up. HOWEVER if any health problems do arise make sure you see a specialist reptile vet. These are few and far between but your local small animal practice should be able to give you a recommendation. |
