Which type of thermostat would you recommend for a 7watt heatmat. I've noticed that it is harder to keep cecil's temps. stable with all the hot weather, and with all the different types I'm a bit confused?

What type have you got? - I'd just suggest a Habistat Heatmat Stat.

7 watt is a 6 x 11 i think.

A mat stat would work fine (100w)

How do you run more than one heat source with 1 stat? - Where do you put the probe?

plug extension lead in stat socket then mats in to extension lead.

got probe in my large viv for my geckos which is located on the bottom of my stack and is set to 31*C.

wastold by local shop to doit this way as stats can take up to 100w. seems to work fine.

What happens if one of the other mats (without probe) fails?

The thermometer will show you the temp & it will be obvious.

I just meant that you have to assume they are all working the same way, if one starts getting hot and the probe is on one that is still cool, the stat would not know to turn it down.

I'm just thinking out loud really, sure the odds of them varying is very slim anyway.
