just fed Medusa for the 1st time... couldnt have gone better she took the pinkie and swallowed it without a problem! shes about 6-8 weeks so am i right in thinking 1 pinkie every 5-7 days is the right amount?

erm, not to be picky but its Brumation and are you going to try and enforce it? (cool temps and stop feeding?)

There's no need to cool your corn snake unless you're thinking of breeding - even then you don't need to.

I didn't deliberately cool Birch and Spruce but with having Amy sleeping in our room at the time we kept the temps down. That seemed to work as it's the first year I've seem them doing the business and Birch's 1st clutch.

We don't brummate normally, but going to breed Cyd next year so going to brummate her over winter. I wouldn't bother with the males and the other females are all babies bless 'em.

it's definitely not essential to cool them for breeding but I think it was what kick-started mine this year when they'd never bothered before.

Breeders do it to save on food bills & electric where the corn snakes need little heat or light (if any at all) & the same for food, none is needed while the corns are cooled.
