Hiya, Newbie stupid question i'm afraid. Do I need to bath our new corn snake. He is 2.5 years old, he has a big water dish which he could get in (havent seen him yet)

sometimes a soak might help if hes having trouble shedding or he has a mite problem

Petal had a bath in the sink today as she had another 'not quite all in one piece' shed.

I bath mine for health reasons such as above, it also helped my egg-bound adult female pop her last egg out, and I'm swimming Beech the fatty amel to try and get his weight down.

It can add some variety for the snake as they're pretty good swimmers, just make sure you block off the over-flow!

cornsnakes, ratsnakes, bullsnakes, boas and day geckos

After reading a similar thread on here, I've taken to giving my corn a dip in the bath a couple of days after a feed. It seems to encourage her to poop, this way she poops in the bath rather than in her tank. I use a couple of inches of lukewarm water, and change the water as soon as she has pooped. She seems to like swimming, and powers up and down the bath pretty fast.

i cant use the bath for tartan cause she just climbs right out lol
