hi guys ive got a candy corn called Naboo :) and i think shes a she but need to find out for certain. i would like to give breeding a go wen shes mature but shes only about 16months at the moment. i was wondering what the chances of 1) the snakes getting along ok and 2) the chance of babies if i waited for her to mature then introduce a mature male.

is it a better idea to introduce them when they are young?

thanks :)

If you introduce a male while they are still young then there is no way to stop them breeding prematurely. Breeders normally wait until the female is around 3 years old to breed, but that doesn't mean that the snake is unable to get herself into trouble before then.

I would keep them separate until they are old enough to breed without complications.

Roselyn's Rule of 3 for Breeding:
3 years old
3 feet long
300g in weight (at least)

I introduced Birch and Spruce as adults and had no problems.

As Ginger Pony says above the general rule that most people seem to follow is the rule of 3s. Corns can breed at 18 months though if the right weight. It is better to 'weight' though until the snake matures.
