This is my second handmade viv which is intended for a fully grown royal. Its 4ft long x 2ft high x 1.5ft wide. Its made of plywood with battons running along every edge for the screws to fix into. Its totaly hand made from 1 sheet of 8ft x 4ft marine plywood, i started sunday morning and finished about an hour ago (I did sleep!). Theres a few small jobs to do (wireing, making a vent, fitting runners and perspex and varnishing) but thats basically it. I have started drilling a flower pot hide aswell. Hope you like it!
(Turn next pic 90 degrees clockwise)

Nice, but why did you need a sleep between Sunday morning and Sunday afternoon, was it really hard work?

I have got my act together agin with this project after going away for 2 weeks. I was thinking of making a lader type thing using dowel, but what i just bought is pine. I was hoping that if i finished it with a thick layer of varnish it would be harmless? What do you guys think?
Edit = What do you lot think about the digital exo terro hygrometers? Any good?
Edit #2 = Im also making a hide for a royal. has anyone got any rough ideas for dimensions for a 4ft+ royal? |
