For a change i just thought i would put a large pool in henrys viv, just to see what she though of it really. She doesnt seem to go in it at all (and she doesnt enjoy baths much). I moved the rock into the pool to take an earlier pic but im gonna leave it there so she cant tip it.
If you look at the first pic you can see the temp is running low. This is only because i turned the matt off for about an hour because it was a little too warm.

looks good. if temp is running high try investing in a mat stat. they are about 40-50 quid but worth it. i got 3 heat mats running off one stat and i think they are def worth the money. looking good though... |

nice idea, i use the large ceramic dog bowls for my corns and a casserole dish for my royals, so they sometimes soak in them, the royals more than the corns |
1 amel 1 okeette 2 normals 1 rosy rat x 3 royals
1 cali king 1 publean milk 1 yemen chameleon 2 orange spotted agamas 1 colombian rainbow boa |

yep that's it.
Mine work well for my Leos & like a pulse stat the temp is the same constantly.
The only problem you might have is if the room temp drops, it can affect the vivs ambient temp & so the hot end temp will also drop.
They're very simple to use just turn the dial, check the temp & done. |

if the room temp is 23*C. The ambient viv temp could be 26*C if the hot end temp is 32*C. (Using the table lamp dimmer).
If the room temp drops to 19*C, the ambient temp could drop to 23*C & so the hot end temp could also drop to 27*C.
The table lamp dimmer doesn't have a sensor probe so would not be able to increase the heat from the heat source (heatmat, lamp).
So as I said; as long as the room temp remains the same then the table lamp dimmer will work fine, like the ones I have. |

Great suggestion MM, although you'd have to regularly check the temperature. Quite a saving though. :) |

No what I mean is once you set the table lamp dimmer & you know the room temp wont change then that's it. The temp is constant & always reads the same. So it's like a pulse stat with out a sensor probe though. A dimming stat will turn off completely so the temp will drop slightly then once the sensor realizes the temp goes back up to what it's set to & so on.

I got that, I just meant that I wouldn't be 100% sure the room temperature was constant. Its not a problem, I have digital thermometers for the vivs anyway. |
