1. Well shes ok when out of her viv but if she sees me move when she is in it she will stop dead for thirty seconds and then carry on with whatever she's up to. (From this im gathering that snakes vision is based on movement?) 2. She is always on the cold side! Im sure she isnt fussy over the two tipes of hide i have.. 3. I dont mist the viv. Only when shes due to shed. |

As with Henry, Wiggle spends most of her time on the cool side and I don't tend to spray her. |

Im gonna have to get a digital thermometer to check that she isnt cowering away from too much heat. Im thinking that maybe the dial is a bit sticky and its actually too hot. |

1. most of mine are shy unless they're due a feed, Birch is probably the most active generally. 2. Spruce is usually in his cold hide, Beech the obese Amel tends to too. 3 I don't mist ever, Birch and Spruce have a damp hide if they want to use it (Birch usually does)

Some of mine I had would seem to never come out, Didn't really notice if they spent more time in their cooler hides more than their warmer hides, sprayed at the beginning & during the breeding season. |

This is what i mean when i talk about her cold hide. Its the enclosed hide thing. I moved a rock into the water (i will start a new thread to chat about that) so that it was out of the way for the photo.

lol, its not a normal hide. I mean the small dark space under the platform and behind the plant. I have moved the plant over a bit. She likes it in there and i can also see her which is a great plus.
Edit = its not dark in the pic because of the camera flash. |

You could get some more smaller/shorter fake plants & attatch them to the sides of the 'platform/ledge' you have made. This will look a little more like a natural hide & will be more sheltered. |

I've found garden centres are cheaper for fake plants than buying special reptile ones. |
