I want to install a thermometer in our viv, so I'm wondering what others use. The exo terra dial type seems pretty cheap. |

dials sometimes are innaccurate. LC strips work well, but digital is most accurate. Check ebay. |

I use LC ones in the 3 vivs and an Exo terra dial in Queenie's RUB. Also got the matching Exo terra dial hygrometer in there but I don't bother with them for the corns. |

sorry, posting that late at night i wouldnt make sence! sorry.
Basically, i had a exoterra thermometer and a exo terra thermometer (did this in a viv with no animal in) put the exo terra one in by the probe. Managed to make the exoterra one read 28C, when the digital one was saying 37C.
So they are out, and another day, the digital one said 26C when it was really 18C |

Ok did you check that the switch was on the right selection for the probe ?
I have one where if you select 'out' which is usually for the probe it reads the room temp. So I had it set up all day reading 25-26*C & thinking that's impossible.
The realized it was an aquarium thermometer & 'out' meant out of the water so yeah - room temp 25-26*C was the room temp lol !
'in' meant the probe as it would be 'in' the water !
Now it works properly.
I have 3 of those hagen thermos coming so hope they work. Hagen is a very big aquarium brand with great products so hopefully they will. |

I went with a simple LC strip for now, but I'll probably get a digital one as well at some point. Thanks for the suggestions |

No I emailed the seller & apparently I'm not the only one. They said they would send out more if they don't arrive.
Whether they will or not I don't know, but I hope they turn up soon. Maybe tomorrow.....
