cheap asda value porridge oats from asda for substrate/food. cheap asda value cat/dog biscuits for food. cheap fish food if you can get it for food. lettuce or cucumber for water source. a pack of oats & box of biscuits will last a while.
so pretty cheap to feed for a small colony of live food.
if I spent £5 a month with an endless supply of live food it's better than £5 a week, every week with no choice if the shop's run out.

hi MM gonna try breeding dubia roaches as they only get to 4cm so will be able to feed the adults to my geckos so there will be no waste. which ones have you gone with and why? (so much choice)

It's definately worth while. People are generally put off by roaches but they don't smell like crickets, breed easier & last longer. They don't make any noise either & contain great quantities of 'meat'. Just don't feed them calcium powder. Grated carrot & apple go down well.
