so a good variety of food is good for the leo's then.
i need some practical advice on gut loading insects. there is so many products available for each specific insect to gut load them, it is gonna cost me a fourtune to buy them all. is there any home made cheap alternative? (ie ive heard fish flakes for crickets for example)

use porridge oats as a base & yeah chuck in some fish flakes if you like I do. sprinkle some calcium & vitamin powder over it all & mix it in. If it's for meal worms try to keep it about an inch thick. Use carrot or potato for moisture rather than veg as it goes off quick n mouldy. Plus the excess moisture can kill off your live food. If you keep a shallow dish of calcium in the viv for the geckos to munch on when they like then I dont feel there's a need to dust the food as the geckos will go to the shallow dish if needed. I do use parsley for my locusts but wash & shake dry as much as possible & as long as you have good ventilation in your boxes (where you keep the live food) then there should be minimal if any moisture build up. I'm trying to breed my live food to see how easy it is (or not) never tried before but I thought I'd give it a go.
