I think i'll introduce you all to Jack, my Leopard Gecko! He's about 4 years old, Let me tell you the story of how i got him.... I originally bought him from a friend a couple of years ago with a female. New to reptiles at the time, i didn't really know what to look out for in a healthy leo, I did however know that vitamin supplements for day fruit eating geckos was not suppose to be given to a leo! I immediatly corrected this by giving them the correct supplements. She never gave the geckos calcium and never gut-loaded the insects, this i found out for myself by researching. They were kept in a very small enclosure together with insufficient lighting. She let the geckos breed all year round and never seperated them, She also never told me that the female had only just started eating again after a long period of starvation. I only had her for a few months when i decided something was seriously wrong, and that i must take her to the vets. The vet said she was suffering with MBD, and this must have been going on for years! He said i could try medicating her daily but her chances of survival were very slim, so i tried but sad to say she was too far gone! The male was a little over weight but since then has lost some of that weight! I'll show you some pictures!

They're pretty easy to care for, Mature geckos only need feeding every other day and they choose a single spot to use as a toilet so they're pretty clean too. They are also very calm and docile, I just need to stick my hand in his tank and he's climbing up my arm! Very easy to handle if picked up correctly! |

No problem, i'm happy to answer them. It's basically when you feed the insects things that will benefit the gecko, like fruit and veg, carrots are very good to feed to insects, great for the gecko! |

Hi cat001 I've seen you on LeoGecko forum, like the pic of the 'eye shot'.
I wondered if you had used 'the live food warehouse' or 'ricks live food' to buy locusts from ? They seem to be the cheapest I can find at £12.00 for 100 medium.
Can you recommend any other places to buy live food from ? |
