i think i may have misjudged the size of a mouse i bought for my corn. shes 9 months old, hows big can the mice be?
secondly if i try and feed her this mouse it looks massive compared to what she has had before. will it hurt her if she trys to eat it? or will she only try if she knows she can fit it in?
Hi, my snake is about the same age as yours maybe a month younger and i`ve been feeding him on fluffs for a while now and he as no problems at all. it takes him about 1 minute to take it down completely and he seems happy enough. I have a local pet shop that let you choose your own mice and i always try to get the same sort of size fluffs and i`ll get slightly bigger fluffs as he grows.
It depends how big it actually is- they say don't feed them anything that's wider than 1 and 1/2 times the width of the snakes head, but if in doubt the snake should be brainy enough to know what it can and can't handle. If it's not massively big, then you can always offer it to the snake. If it is too large the snake should just ignore it.
i just have to ask, what is a fluff? is that what we call fuzzies? at 9 months i would say a fuzzy would be fine, as kaz says no bigger than 1 and 1/2 size of head, u'll be surprised just how much they get down, still makes me cringe! lol
as far as i know fluffs are the same as fuzzies. My 2 local feed suppliers call them fluffs anyway and there the next size up from pinkies. Don`t know if it`s a local name or whether they are called two different things.
