Has anyone ever used heat tape / wire? Basically i'm planning to convert part of a viv stack in to a rack for all the babies this is the current viv.

I've ordered 6 flat faunariums that will fit 3 in a row and if i put a shelf in i'll get 6 (21x30x16cm) in this little space (great coz we've only got 5 babies so i gat to keep one of mine when they hatch too) The viv below houses my geckos who just have a heat mat so no major heat transfer from them to worry about.

This is kida what the plan is...Remove glass, add shelf cram in fauns

Been looking for mats to run along the back, i need up to 78cm long x 10cm(ish)deep but cant find anything that narrow, they're all 15cm deep and either too long or too short so was concidering heat wire. Anyone used it? is it safe reliable, what kind of stat is best to run with it?

Also wondering if i should install a couple of extra vents in the bottom section for air circulation? The glass is still in for now just in case one of the ickle darings escapes again but i was planning to take it out once the new fauns arrive.

Any help or advice greatfully recieved as i haven't even seen it in use really, Hopefull sombody will have a clue what i'm on about.

Just found this on the darkside...

Gussing i could just copy it on a smaller scale? Should only need 2 lengths of wire on each shelf so 4/5 meters total and it could all run off one Pulse stat?
