Hi guys im looking to build a 3ft viv for a corn snake and I was wondering if some body could lend me a hand. I built an outside enclosure for my veiled chameleon so I have moderate DIY experience and willing to give it a go if it's quite simple. I was thinking of using some contiboard but was unsure what size I would need to get and how to go about cutting it etc. I also don't know what equipment I need for example the tool used to cut the air vents is my main issue. Everything else should be ok. I was thinking of using screws and wallplugs of some kind to hold it all together as I thought this would be quite stable. I also don't know where to get the glass from and how to go about getting the right size. |

oh and for the last few conversions we've done we've used 4mm perspex which is easier to get hold of and cheaper, i got mine from RED plastics who i whole-heartedly recommend |

if your doing 36x18x18 you should go to b+q, wickes, homebase ect. they do 2000mm x 457mm (just under 79"x18") you need 2 of those, one board does two 36" lengths for top and bottom, the other board will do one 36" length for back and two 18" squares for sides. you also need a 1000mm x 150mm, cut that to desired size and fix it all together.
glass runners and vents you can get from e-bay, hole saw to cut vents also available in b+q ect.
may need to reduce the length of the back depending what thickness you get |

two boards for top, bottom, back and sides, and a narrow board no less than 120cm in length for the front where the glass will go |

you cut it in half longways and use it for the front, unless you`re planning full height glass.
measurements in cm

I thought it would make more sense to do it top and bottom so it would be easier to fit the glass runners? If I use wood of that size what runners would I need? |
