Hi, I went on a school trip for two weeks and when i came back home i found that we had a new family member, a male amel corn called Anakin ! My parents and my brother rescued him from a friends flat who had just left him, he was only on his own for a week but had little water and had not been feed! How big should a year old corn be as he is 'tichy' to our females? He has only been feed pinkies we are now giving him fluffs. I find it really anoying as he asked me for advice on what to feed Anakin because he was serching for food and he just ignored me as i told him to give fluffs and he has just given him small pinkies and now Anakin is small and skinny! So i would really appreciate if any one could give me advice on what to do. I will be putting some pics of him and our other snakes so you can get a better perspective of what i mean. Madgirl x.
I'm sure you'll do fine Madgirl, good job you got him in time.
You can feed him a little more than you should if he's underweight. It's called power feeding and means he's fed every 3-4 days instead of weekly. Get him up to a healthy weight and then reduce back to a normal diet.
Corn snakes can get overweight if fed too much so monitor him carefully.
