this could be just me worrying (which I am very good at btw) but we fed Mojo friday evening around 7.30, he was gently returned to his faun afterwards. He went straight into his coconut hide and stayed there, popping out twice for water (that I know of) and once for a poo, and he's still there
I know people say its ok to hold them after this long, but with me being a little nervous of him, i wanted to wait till he was out and about, like he used to be before his feed. So I lifted the hide to hopefully kickstart the lil blighter and he's just staring at me, minimal movement. Will he ever go back to his usual self? by this time of night normally he would be all over his faun.

Yes Mick stop worrying. It is ok to handle them after 48 hours. You have just suprised him by lifting his hide. Put your hand close to him so he knows your scent then just pick him up. |

Well done bet you feel brilliant now you've done it. I've never had a problem picking up snakes but my 7 year old (who Slinky actually belongs too) is a bit wary. I just keep bringing her out and letting her wriggle across Jade's hands so she gets used to it.
If it helps I am absolutely terrified of hamsters lol, cant touch them, they scare thepoopout of me lol

cheers for that, I have always loved snakes too, just had no contact with them and tbh I am wary of most animals unless I've known them for a while. Yes the feeling of over coming the fear is fantastic, excited for tonights hold |

Well done Mick! It's a great feeling isn't it. I love handling Gorgeous Boy, he already feels settled when I handle him, although he does seem to like winding through my hair, not sure what that's all aboutMy Grandson has a corn snake 'Scotty' who is about 8 or 9 years old, he is so placid, but so BIG! I hope my corn is as robust as him, he is wonderful to handle. I guess we will just have to wait for that time to come. |

I have always loved snakes as well but had no contact with them. The first time i held one was the day i got my two. Went in to a reptile shop with a mate and he told the girl in the shop i had never held a snake. The next thing she got out a 5 foot Royal and put it in my arms. Their was no going back then. |
