I agree, its not needed. I dont use a damp hide for my corn either though. And yes, to help them shed. |

Well I only mist during is shed to increase. The humidty. There's no real harm in doing so if the Viv is kept clean on a regular basis |

mhmmm misting doesnt do the aspen any good whatsoever, rots and moulds.
I agree with the damp hide, that's good to use only in shed and wont damage the substrate.
Hey.. better to ask then just going ahead and misting!! |

i wouldn't even bother with a damp hide unless you're expecting problems with shedding, corns don't come from particularly humid conditions in the wild so haven't evolved to cope with them.
one of my corns, the OAP 16 year old does have regular problems shedding so after his eyes have gone blue then cleared again i put a damp hide in the warm end and take out his usual hide. then usually he sheds fine and the warm hide is removed asap as keeping them humid for too long can cause health problems. |

I'm no expert, but i don't mist or provide a damp box. During blue phase I just move the water bowl from the cool end to the warmer end to up the humidity. Shedding has been fine so far.
