hi everyone i was wondering if anyone could post pics of a male and female tail i was sold my corn snake as a male bit have now been told by a couple of people that he could be a she i dont really want to do down the probbing route cos it can be dangerour if not done properly tangos tail thins quite a bit after the vent will try to get a pic of him/hers tail on here tomorrow thanks sam |

if you take him/her to a vet or a decent reptile shop im sure they'd be able to probe the snake without hurting it |

Sexing by looking at the tail could be very inaccurate. Getting probed by a decent vet/pet shop will give you a more certain answer (but it may never be 100%!) |

Snakey can also be "popped", which is less invasive than probing but still needs done by an expert. Tail size/shape is not dependable but in the book "Corn Snakes - The Comprehensive Owner's Guide" (available at much cheapness on Amazon) by Kathy and Bill Love (gurus) there's a good photo which shows the difference between male and female. I used this to guess mine and they've both been confirmed as female, just as I guessed. |

depending on actual physical size, 3-4 months old - ish, an experienced person would tell you if it's too old to pop safely and probe instead |

Mine are too old then. Dont think i will have them probed,will just go by the tail shape. |
