hi i have a strange problem my corn snake wich i've owed for a month now only seem intrested in fuzzy's
every time i stick a large mouse in there it has a litle sniff and thats it
i was woundering if the last owners fed it fuzzy's only or live mice wich they did do, to there python so what im going to do is get some crawlers the next week, 1s up from fuzzy's see if that does any thing . oh ive tyed braining ,stabbing ,heating it up,moving it around in frount of her,and so on temps are all ok
she active, 3 to 4 foot long any ideas apart from popping a mouse in her mouth when she eating a fuzzy i only want to do this as a last result
she had 3 fuzzy's on sunday and left the 4th the 1st 2 weeks she did't eat because i only tryed large mice
for the past 2 weeks she's bin eating fuzzy's. i just leave them in a bowl and with in 20 mins there gone.
i've all so tryed putting a blanket over the viv for an hour. just incase she is she i say she ,she could be a he im just going on what the last owners said, and i no it's pritty close to breeding season.
many thx for help and ideas ill try em next sunday

following the pinky with a mouse could work, it has for me in the past so it's certainly worth a try.
if he's only been on pinkies work up through the sizes gradually, feeding multiple prey items per meal. |

ye i think im going to stick with the original plan ill try it with a crawler, if it does't take that ill give it a fuzzy, and when it's eating it ill pop a small mouse in it's mouth and go from there.
thx for the reply buddy
i was wounding if there is any other ideas out there |

sometimes they just need feeding small meals till they get their confidence up and their technique sorted. if he's had a really big prey item that he's struggled with it could have put him off.... just time and patience to resolve that |

i think the over head heating has helped out as well by heating the ambient air temprature
i got rid of my red light bulb and brought 1 of these http://www.888reptiles.co.uk/productdetails.php?ProductID=1870&ProductGroupID=110
i run both a heat mat and over head i turn the over head one off at 9 pm and i leave the mat on 24/7

hmm strange surely if its on ly taking fuzzies you must have to feed it about 5 fuzzies at a time, my growing boy blake, 4 feet now and loves large mice, and even squeezes extra large mice down his gullet lol |
