I already have a 17" by 11" habistat heat mat for my faun but am wondering if this is going to be to small for a 3 foot by 18" glass viv. Should i get a 23" by 11" instead.

you need it to cover 1/3 of the floor area,you would not of had sufficiant cool end area with the larger mat.
