Hello
Bellatrix arrived last night and she has a tiny amount of unshed skin clinging to the very end of her tail. Her previous owner said it was a couple of weeks since she last shed - how can I help her get rid of this last little bit? Or does it not matter too much? |

btw a33272's snake is called 'marmalade', not to be confused with dipping your snake's tail in marmalade to get the shed skin off! a bath in tepid (28-30*C) water about as deep as the snake is thick, for 10-20 mins then gently rub the stuck skin with a towel. that should get it off. it's very important that the stuck shed is removed from the tail tip, we had a noobie on here recently posting that their snakes tail tip had gone black and dropped off as they'd not bothered with it!! |

Bubbles shed at the weekend and there was a very small bit left on the tip of his tail. This happened in his last shed as well. A quick bath and a rub with a warmed towel and he was as right as rain! He hates the bath though and broke wind very loudly as I lifted him out just to show his distaste No poop though so that made a change |

OK, i'll try it when she (FINALLY) digests her monster meal, which should be tomorrow. I've tried to dislodge it myself but that just results in her whipping her tail away and getting a bit grumpy. Thanks everyone :) |

Sully still had a bit of skin at the end of her tail. A soak in the bath then a rub down with wet paper towels got it of |

OK, skin has been removed! Took three good soaks before it came off, and it looked like there may have been two sheds' worth on there as well. Shiny new snakey!!
She REALLY doesn't like having a bath though. Weirdo. |

congrats next time her eyes cloud over then clear again add a damp hide for the few days prior to her actually shedding, that should help her get it all off in one piece |
