My habitstat thermostat had a red 'power' light on, now it I've turned it off so I'm just going to have a cold snake for a while while I wait to replace it tomorrow. Cold snake better than fried though. |

Meant to read, My habitstat thermostat had a red 'power' light on, now it's gone off!! Why?! Is it broke? It's letting my temps also go to 32+ when its set at 30. I've turned it off so I'm just going to have a cold snake for a while while I wait to replace it tomorrow. Cold snake better than fried though. |

if its an on off stat then theres a +/- degree of accuracy. it might not be broken. ones that are slightly more accurate are the habistat pulse. with my on off stat i have a seperate digital therm in with the stats prob. i set the temp based on the digital therm which is more accurate e.g. to achieve 30c i set my stat to 28. |

that's how on/off stats work, the power light is on when it's getting up to temperature (which may be a degree or two above what it's set at) then the light goes off as it cools down to the minimum temperature, then it goes on again etc. so yes the temps will yo-yo up and down within a degree or so either side of what it's been set at. pulse and dimmer stats are more accurate but on/off stats are fine for corns. |

I use an on & off stat, it drops to about 25 then goes up to 30 then the light turns of and it drops again, as long as you just keep tweeking it so that the highest it gets to is 30*C then it will be okay if it drops a few degrees. |
