hi anyone use a habistat magic eye?

if so would u recommend for a corn snake viv

I havent used it, but the magic eye function isnt nessacary for corn snakes.

It is, but the drop in temperature will occur naturaly without needing the function on the thermostat. A mat (on/off) stat is the most basic version and does the job well.

In regards to this, if the stat is set to keep the temp at 27-30, how does this occur naturally?? Or do you mean the temp in the cool end?

Because room temperature will drop, causing cold end to drop - creating an even steeper gradient of hot/cold

Does that make sense? Is it even right? ;p

ah right, yeah I think so... maybe.... I dunno lol. Cos as soon as my stat probe feels 27.3 it starts the heatmat up again til it goes back to 30 and turns it off when it's 27.3 etc etc.... Im confused. :(

Yes the cool end will drop, but its the ambiet temperature that will drop. The surface heat of the mat will stay fairly constant.
