Right i'm about to get my first snake. I ahve built my own wooden vivarium with sliding glass doors! Does the heat mat go inside the viv or outside?
Cheers

Hi and welcome to the site.

The heatmat should go inside the viv, some people like to put a vinyl tile over it to stop snakey coming in to direct contact with it too , Most important think is to have your heatmat running through a thermostat (mat stats are £20 -£25) to stop any chance of over heating and ending up with a crispy fried snake.

Hope that helps.

May I add, the mat should only cover 1/3rd of viv floor, for cool and hot end for snakie to controll his temperature

P.S - get a corn. :)
