Hey all im new to the site i fell like the community here is very careing for the lifestyle of these snakes and i was wondering if there is any particulour key things i need to remember when purchasing a corn snake like temperature etc.....

Also would it be okay if it shared a room with me i own 2 rats which share my room and i also own 2 cats but they just sleep all the time lol

The variation of corn snake i would get would be Amelanistic, Carolina, Hypomelanistic or Creamsicle is there any diffrence in the kinds of snake like behaviour etc.....

Help would be very much appreciated

Hi Matteymaz, Welcome to the forum,

Here's a few things to consider when purchasing your first Corn Snake

*
Who will look after your new pet if you are away?
*
Can you get food easily from your local pet shop?
*
Can you deal with a bag of dead mice in your freezer?
*
Can you handle the mice to feed your pet?
*
Are you prepared to take on an animal that could be with you in twenty years time?
*
Is the rest of the family happy to live with a pet snake?

You may need to move the rats to a different room - sometimes the smell can anoy the corns a little (they are basically food in the snakes eyes) but depends how big your room is you may be able to put them at the other end of the room.
