are rubbish IMO.

i went to the rep shop yesterday to get pinkies and a thermostat for liquid, the guy gave me a MC 100 which cost (wait for it) £28

i put a digital thermometer next to the `stat probe and it switched off at 28c where i set it but didn`t go back on until it went down to 22c, where my 2 habistat 100s keep the temp within 2 degrees at the most

took it back today, told the guy the problem and he changed it with no hassle for a habistat 300 for no extra charge. result
so far it seems to be doing quite well

6*C is quite a range for an on/off stat! not used microclimate ones personally but i've not heard anything bad about them either. hopefully it was a one-off fault, glad you've got sorted with a better one now

cornsnakes, ratsnakes, bullsnakes, boas and day geckos

All ours are microclimate, but the pulse ones are a lot more reliable than the on/off ones.

i have a on off micro climate, the variance is difficult to cope with and requires alot of montoring and higgery jiggery dependant on weather.

well that was balls, even with the dial all the way down the mat still managed to get up to 32 degrees. so took it back today and got my money back, again with no hassle, then spent the next hour hunting for a shop that had the habistat 100 on/off - reptile shop,no only MC`s, Pets At Home,no but lots of decor, garden/aquarium center, yes finaly and cost 30 quid.
now i`ve had it on for a couple of hours and already its much better, temps are staying around the 28 degree mark
