Jono is right, the most likely reason is temperature fluctuations and being to cool to digest.

How do you provide the heat, how do you measure it and how is it controlled?

on a thermostat set to 30*C even an on/off stat would stay between 28-32*C at the hot end, pulse and dimmer stats would be even more accurate within about 0.5*C either side.

but i dont have a thermostat that can be set to 30c
only have a diti which tells me what the ttemp is ,it has max temp and lowest temp readings it only tells me what the temps have been,
so should i get a mat sat has the man in shop said i dont need one has the mats never get that hot, also i called another shop has i was worried about the matt not being big eough and was told they wouldnt recomend a matt in a wooden viv, and to use a 100watt heat bulb , so im evven more confussed, i just want my viv set up for my corn snake the best he can have and that i can give him

I would definitely get a thermostat. The rep shop man is wrong- mats can get too hot if they go faulty and burns are not uncommon.

As for having a mat in a wooden viv- that's fine as long as the temperature is controlled by a stat, but a bulb would work too.

I dont think one is safer than other (as long as you have a guard on the bulb), but mats are more common than bulbs with corns.

I have both..
Light during the day (With guard), and matt + stat during the night
My temps never go above 32c during the day - but I think I need to get a dimmer stat for the light, as it could do with going down a few c's :(

With my set-up, I've never had a regurge.. and he's very active at night; but I rarely ever see him even poke his head out while the light is out.
Down to him being very nocturnal, or just too hot outside.. I don't know :(
